Thursday 24.11.11

Technique day working on Cleans (from the hang), pistols & kipping pull-ups (w/ hollow rocks)

Since hitting back squats my lower back’s been tightening up a fair bit… I remembered Pete mentioning that tight Psoas can put your lower back out big time. I remember because the last time I saw Pete, he did the good ol’ pin and stretch on my hip flexors (eg. tried to replace the top of my femurs with both of his thumbs. I cried…)

I thought I’d start this morning’s session with some solid psoas release of my own. Aided with a bright yellow soft ball (I’m not really sure why it’s called a ‘soft’ ball? WTF?!) I spent a good 10 mins red faced rolling and working out the tight spots in my stupid damn hip flexors. It hurt. The result: instant relief 🙂 Got a sore lower back? Release your psoas bro – release the psoas…
