Great session to hang out with all the Adapt crew. Sweat it out with all my peeps – good times.
I’ve finally chilled out since I deciding to dial everything back this week. It’s been a pretty tough thing to do too: Listen to your body, put everything on hold and realise that you’re in in for the long haul. Training was going so well too. I mean well enough that I felt like I could hit a double last week?! I don’t think I overdid it either I just think it was bad timing. A cold snap in the weather and the rest of the fam coughing on me for a constant 5 days finally caught up with me.
Now that I’ve dialled everything back and decided to lay off ME days for a week I’m feeling pretty good. My throat’s starting to come good. My voice is starting to come back (which is a good thing because we’ve got a team WOD on tomorrow morning and yes, chances are I’ll be screaming at everyone again…) I’m a bit tight but to be honest I’m still too scared to hit mobility because it tends to aggravate my back/sciatic so we’ll see how everything goes to day when I join the boys from work up at Northside gym for a lunchtime smash session?!
Last night I also had the chance to give one of guys a bit of a gee-up. He was ready to quit. it’s the second guy I’ve hit up and in as many weeks too. I’m starting to see a pattern emerge and the tell tale signs are all exactly the same: Get on the outer -> Come to less sessions -> Come to none -> Quit.
Remember this:
When people choose to withdraw far from a fire,
the fire continues to give warmth, but they grow cold.
When people choose to withdraw far from light,
the light continues to be bright in itself but they are in darkness.
This is also the case when people withdraw from God.

Not to replace that last word in the last line God with Adapt but I’m definitely starting to notice the people who drift to the outer edges of a group: be that church or gym find it harder to come back the next time. start missing sessions (you could have made it to) and you start to make it harder to come back the next time. I’m writing up an extended post right for Adapt on this exact issue. Stay tuned – It’s going to be cracker…

Bloody hell, you are laying the smack down with your Adapt posts lately!
The new Dr Phil – tellin it like it is!? haha
