Speaking with a fellow Whole30 buddy today and she mentioned how she had a dream last night about eating food she wasn’t allowed to. Perhaps she’s displaying sugar withdrawal symptoms? I mean that usually happens to me around the half way mark but it did get me thinking about the onset of my own symptoms…
We’re 3 days in and yes, I’ve noticed that I’m a bit all over the shop. There were a couple of times today that I didn’t know how I was feeling. I couldn’t quite put a finger on it – I’d be up and then down almost immediately?! I longed for something sweet but fought the urges and ended up smashing a jar or almond butter which seemed to blunt the sugar cravings.
As I write this I’ve got a bit of a headache. It could be the fact that I still have my contacts in or quite possibly, that I just watched the latest Transformers movie in 3D (on the XTREME screen) but I’m hoping I’ll sleep decently enough tonight to wake up to some bacon and eggs in the AM. On a positive I did have a plan to eat one piece of fruit on every other day and made it through day 3 without any – I guess it’s a win.
Food & Training
4:30am – wake – last night’s sleep was pretty average. Madelyn had cooked some sweet potato wedges and it was my job to put them in the fridge before going to bed. They were pretty tasty so i put some away in my tummy and had a shit sleep. Moral of the story: don’t eat within and hour of going to bed if you wanna have a better sleep.
4:45 – pre breakfast – 4 scrambled eggs + roasted capsicum
5:30am – coffee – double shot espresso
6:30am – coffee – double shot espresso
7:30am – breakfast – roast lamb + sweet potato + almond butter (multiple spoonfuls) + coconut water
12:45pm – lunch – pork rissoles + roast root veggies + broccoli
3pm – arvo snack – half a jar of almond butter
4:45pm – coffee – because I’m going to the movies tonight
5:30pm – grilled chicken thighs + pork rissoles + carrots
Training: None. It’s a rest day!
