Have you ever felt like a fraud?
All your friends and colleagues think you totally own it – life, business, family, training and nutrition but deep down inside you’re relieved that they haven’t found out…
Well, I want to own up to something – Here goes…
I’ve spent the last month (Dec 2015) making some really bad nutritional and lifestyle choices
I’ve eaten fruit mince pies, ice cream, hot chips, bread, eaten food until I felt sick and you know what – I even ate McDonalds?!
I know I know – it’s the holiday season and you should be able to indulge a little right? But when should have occasional indulgence turned into daily treats – multiple times a day
You name it – If it was bad for me then there’s a pretty high chance I’ve ingested it over the past month
I’ve skipped out on plenty of training sessions that I know I could have made and I haven’t done ROMWOD for over a month.
I feel slow, lethargic, gross and I have had trouble sleeping – I feel like total balls
Breaking point
yesterday I completely lost it – everything came crashing down…
I felt like total crap
I wanted to cry and curl up into a ball
I beat myself up for making shit food choices and so I’d eat another fruit mince pie to feel good again – and the vicious cycle continued
I’d get motivated for 10 seconds and then lose it (the feeling) – and it happened more than 20 times
My mind was a mess
I felt overwhelmed
I couldn’t concentrate or focus
I tried to write – tried to get it out of my head onto paper or a screen but would get constantly distracted – I would allow the distraction as it temporarily took my mind off the mayhem
I knew I needed to sort my shit out but I didn’t know where to start
Well that was yesterday
Starting From Scratch
At 9pm last night I decided to start from scratch
I did ROMWOD and spent 10 minutes meditating then went to bed.
First thing this morning – I decided to write this
This will be my ammunition against a month of mistakes and empower me to take control over my mistakes and get back on the horse – so to speak
If I bring it all out in the open and let other people know that I battle with food too perhaps it will allow others to do so as well – and gain some control over their nutrition and lifestyle
On 16 January I’m doing the Whole Life Challenge
The Whole Life Challenge is an 8-week online, community-building, habit-changing game that challenges you and your friends to create happier, healthier lives by making small, daily changes.
It helps you to focus on 7 key areas of health and well-being: Nutrition, Exercise, Mobility, Sleep, Hydration, Lifestyle Practices, and Reflection.
I know I need it so I’m getting on board.
If you’re anything like me and you’ve made some poor decisions over past couple of months than you need this too and I have absolutely no doubt that it will result in the most empowered start to a year that you’ve ever had.
If you’re keen to get involved – head over to our AdaptCF Team page and sign up
